The Fink – Tenant Improvement Project at the Historic Napa Mill Building

The Fink is a premier tenant‑improvement project completed by Napa Design Partners within the iconic Historic Napa Mill in downtown Napa, California. The renovation occupies the former Silo’s Jazz Club tenant space – an intimate, long‑running music venue known for its speakeasy‑style atmosphere and connection to the mill’s 19th‑century riverfront heritage. When Silo’s closed through the pandemic, the space required a complete architectural and operational transformation to support a new hospitality concept.

Napa Design Partners led the architectural design and technical coordination for the project, preserving the mill’s historic brick walls, timber framing, and industrial proportions while upgrading the venue to meet modern building codes, accessibility standards, and hospitality performance requirements. The firm’s work included spatial planning, structural integration, mechanical and electrical coordination, and the creation of a flexible architectural shell capable of supporting a highly immersive interior environment.

The interior design was executed by Tiki Diablo (Daniel Gallardo), a nationally recognized designer known for his handcrafted, narrative‑driven environments. His concept for The Fink draws from Napa’s maritime history, incorporating salvaged nautical materials, brass portholes, custom lighting, and layered textures that create a transportive, atmospheric cocktail bar. Napa Design Partners ensured that the architectural framework seamlessly supported these custom elements while maintaining the integrity of the historic mill structure.

Today, The Fink stands as one of Napa’s most distinctive hospitality destinations—an example of how exemplary tenant improvements, historic‑building sensitivity, and collaborative design can transform an existing venue into a vibrant, contemporary experience. The project showcases Napa Design Partners’ strengths in hospitality architecture, commercial renovations, and adaptive design within landmark properties, making it a standout addition to our firm’s portfolio.
